The crown holds beach sand — Manly Beach sand, sealed in a window — and the dial underneath is rippled like the shore it came from.

| The angle | The material in the crown is not a metaphor — it is sand from the cove where the Sydney brand was born |
| Verdict | A diver with one genuinely local idea, executed literally. The rest of the specification does not lean on it. |
What it is
Bausele seals sand from Sydney’s Manly Beach — the cove where the brand was born — inside the Elemental’s screw-down crown, visible through a window in the crown itself. The Oceanic Blue dial works the same idea at larger scale: a textured sand-ripple base under a thick lacquer layer, with applied indices floating on top.
Around that, it is a straight diver’s specification. The case is 40mm in 316L steel, water-resistant to 200m. The bezel turns one way and reads two scales — 60 minutes on the outside, 12 hours in. Inside is a Sellita SW200 automatic with 38 hours of reserve, per the build records.
Why it matters
Beach-sand crowns could be a gimmick, and on a lesser specification they would be. Here the idea is carried through the whole watch — crown, dial texture, colour — while the mechanical and case specifications stay conventional and checkable. That restraint is what separates a story from a souvenir.
It is also made to order rather than dropped in batches, which changes the buying decision: the order book was closed when checked, with a notify list for the next run. Scarcity here is a production method, not a countdown timer.

What to check before buying
- The order book was closed at check. Join the notify list rather than hunting resale; the next run is the maker’s own channel.
- Made to order means a wait. The build notes put lead time at about four months. Price and patience are both part of this purchase.
- Sand in a crown is a window, not a sample jar. The amount is symbolic. Buy it for the idea carried through the dial, not for the volume of beach.
- Check the strap before ordering. The build records do not state what it ships on — Not stated. Confirm on the product page.
