| Verdict | The specification does the talking: certified movement, real water resistance, no decoration that does not earn its place. |
What it is
Serica's Réf. 6190-1 M.S.L. Noir Émail puts a COSC-certified Soprod M100 automatic inside a 38mm stainless steel field case rated to 200m. The dial is black enamel, with applied circled indices and Super-LumiNova C3. The case measures 10.4mm thick and 46.5mm lug to lug, with a screw-down crown.
It wears on Serica's Bonklip bracelet — a ladder design, carried over from the brand's earlier field watches, that adjusts without tools. Crown position is a choice at order: the standard 3 o'clock version was in stock online when we checked; the 9 o'clock option was sold out, and Paris boutique stock was out.
Why it matters
Field watches are normally built to a price and a silhouette, in that order. This one starts from the movement's certification and the case's sealing, then keeps the dial plain enough to read at a glance. Enamel is the quiet extravagance: it costs more to make than a lacquered dial and shows nothing for it except depth. Under the urban-explorer lens, that is the right order of priorities — a tool first, with the craft where you have to look for it.

What to check before buying
- Crown side is a real decision. The 9 o'clock option was sold out at check. If you want it, wait rather than settling.
- Price has moved since launch coverage. Older reviews print €990–€1,090 for the 6190 line. The maker's page printed €1,190 when we checked on Nov 6 — use that figure.
- Enamel reads differently in person. It is glossy and deep, not matte. The photos are the guide; there is no texture to hide behind.
- Bonklip fit is its own system. It adjusts without tools, which suits daily wear, but it wears lighter than a solid-link bracelet.
