Field watches are supposed to be steel. TRASKA cast this one in the alloy of ancient coinage instead.

What it is
The Commuter is TRASKA's field-watch line, and the format is familiar: a legible dial, a case built to be knocked around, nothing decorative doing no work. What changes here is the metal. In place of steel, this edition uses electrum — the gold-silver alloy of ancient coinage — mixed here at 68% silver, 20% gold, 12% copper, per the brand's own post about the release.
Why it matters
Case materials in this price band are a short list: steel, titanium, bronze if you're lucky. Electrum is not on it. The silver-heavy mix should take on patina the way old coinage does — warmer and softer than bronze, and unique to each owner's wear. One hundred pieces, split across two sizes, sold through one retailer: read it as a material experiment run at microbrand scale.

What to check before buying
- Patina is the point — and the risk. A silver-majority alloy will tarnish and warm with wear. If you want a case that stays bright, this isn't it.
- Pick the size deliberately. 50 pieces per size; the size that sells out first is gone.
- Confirm the movement spec on TRASKA's own product page before buying — it isn't stated in the announcement material we worked from.
- Single-retailer exclusive. WindUp NYC is the only source at retail; aftermarket prices are not a value guide.
